How much does the ACT cost?

The National Exam is $66 - without writing and $91 - with writing The ACT On-Campus is $75, and is only for admission to Mississippi State University.


When is the test offered?

Registration dates for the National Exam can be found online at www.actstudent.org. ACT On-Campus is offered Mon-Fri. beginning at 8:15 a.m. or 1:15 PM by appointment only.


Do I need to make an appointment?

National Exam: Register online at www.actstudent.org. ACT On-Campus: Register online at www.cbt.msstate.edu


How long does the test take?

Exams are 4 hour appointment times.


How long does it take to get my scores back?

National Exam: Official scores are reported 2-3 weeks to your chosen institutions. At this time you may view your scores online at actstudent.org and/or a score report is mailed to you 3-8 weeks after the exam.

ACT On-Campus: You may call for a verbal report of scores 24-48 hours after your exam. After this scores are reported to Admissions office. No paper reports are issued.


What do I need to bring to the test?

You must bring your valid driver’s license, passport, or government issued photo identification with signature. You may also bring an approved calculator (http://www.act.org/content/dam/act/unsecured/documents/ACT-calculator-policy.pdf)

What if I have to reschedule?

National Exam: there is a test date change fee of $42 & test center change fee of $42. ACT On-Campus: you will have to repay $75.


What if I cancel my appointment?

All fees are nonrefundable if you have to cancel any test.


How often can I take the ACT?

National Exam: May not take more than 12 times total. ACT On-Campus: Retest scores will be cancelled if you retest in less than 60 days.
